e recognize the importance of the indoor environment
we are creating. In an effort to create a healthier indoor environment
we have developed and implemented our “Clean Air Initiative”.
We take extra steps during construction to help protect the mechanical system in your new home. Our goal is to protect the heating and cooling equipment and the vents and distribution system that distribute the conditioned air throughout your new home. To do this we:
- Cover all of the heat vents in every home with protective screening and covers to minimize the amount of dust and debris that enter the mechanical distribution system.
- We block off all of the return air ducts to deep dust and debris from entering these plenums
- During construction we do not connect the furnace to the return aid ducts inside the home. Instead we draw our “return air” from outside the home. By not using the return air ducts within your home during construction we do not draw all of the construction dust, debris and fumes through the new ducts and, as importantly, back through the new furnace.
- Prior to sheetrock taping we cover all of the floor surface. After the sheetrock is taped, texture and wall paint are applied this floor covering is removed. This dramatically reduces the quantity of dust and debris that is present on the subfloor – and dramatically reduces the dust and debris within the home both during construction and after occupancy.
- During construction we vacuum the home a number of times with a HEPA filtered vacuum system to remove as much dust and debris as possible.
- During the trim phase of our construction we remove the metal covers on the return air ducts and install clean filters in the furnace.
